ABOUT TRUE NORTH WOUND CARE AT HOME
True North Wound Care at Home provides independent, in-home wound and ostomy nursing services to individuals and caregivers throughout Midland, Penetanguishene, and surrounding areas in Simcoe County.
Our service is grounded in decades of nursing experience in community and specialized care settings, with a focus on wound management, ostomy support, and patient education in the home environment.
Care is delivered by Registered Nurses with advanced training in wound, ostomy, and continence practice, including Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) certification.
Our Approach
Effective wound care begins with understanding the whole person. Healing is influenced not only by the wound itself, but also by overall health, medications, mobility, nutrition, lifestyle factors, and access to follow-up care.
Our approach focuses on:
- thorough and systematic nursing assessment
- clear explanations in plain language
- practical, evidence-informed care planning
- education for clients and caregivers
- collaboration with other healthcare providers when appropriate and with consent
Education is a core part of every visit. Understanding why something is being done supports informed decision-making and confidence in care.

Why We Do This Work
Healthcare systems are under strain, and many people feel uncertain or unsupported while waiting for assessments, referrals, or specialist input.
True North Wound Care at Home was created to provide additional support, guidance, and skilled assessment in the home setting when access to care is delayed or unclear.
Who This Service Is For? This service is best suited for individuals and caregivers who want to understand their situation, ask questions, and take an active role in care decisions.
Visits focus on thoughtful assessment, education, and communication rather than rushed, task-based care.
